About Philly Grub

Founded and curated by food and drink enthusiast and former nightclub DJ Marilyn Johnson, Philly Grub is a Philadelphia food news, reviews, and scene blog showcasing all that is good about eating and drinking in Philadelphia and South Jersey.

Founded in 2008, Philly Grub is one of Philadelphia’s longest-running blogs. Many have come and gone over the years, but Marilyn’s love of the city and the dining scene has never wavered in over 9 years. Her love of food writing and social media isn’t a passing fad or hobby for her; it is her true passion.

[Founder, Writer, Editor of Philly Grub]

Philly Grub shines a bright spotlight on the amazing food and drink to be found in the Delaware Valley and sometimes beyond. We promise no clickbait here, just honest reporting; though you may see a side of occasional wisecracking and witty banter.

Philly Grub shares Philadelphia area restaurant news, events and occasionally some reviews. You might also see reviews of food products from local food entrepreneurs or other local food-based stories. From fine dining to fast food, if it has to do with food in the Philadelphia area, we’re on it.

Marilyn is also a freelance writer for the following publications:
