On Saturday, July 15, The Palm Philadelphia inside The Bellevue opened its doors following a year-long, all-encompassing restaurant remodel. The iconic space revealed modern enhancements that parallel the generations of history for which the brand is known. With new additions to the famous caricature collage, an expansive wall-to-wall mural depicting the Philadelphia skyline and fresh new dishes on the much-loved menu, The Palm’s refresh is sure to leave a lasting impression.
“The Palm has been a staple in Philadelphia since 1989, and we have enhanced our patrons’ experience with an updated space and modern kitchen to create the sought-after items on our menu,” said Paul Sandler, General Manager of The Palm Philadelphia. “Our remodel truly reflects our Rittenhouse neighborhood – a sophisticated setting with great food and outstanding service.”
Dating back to the 1920s when the restaurant first opened, caricatures and original wall art have become synonymous with The Palm brand. New art installations, hand-painted by the restaurant group’s resident artist and Philadelphia native Zack Bird, also adorn the walls. To capture the history of Philadelphia, Bird created a custom 500-square-foot, hand-painted mural of the skyline, showcasing Philadelphia’s top iconic buildings and attractions. Interestingly, Zack Bird’s mother Bronwyn Bird and father, Bill Bird, were the caricature artists who drew many of the famous caricatures when The Palm Philadelphia debuted in the 1980’s.
Besides changing the ambiance of The Palm, new dishes have also been added to the impressive roster of steakhouse favorites. A few notable additions to the lunch and dinner menus include:
Jumbo Crab over Grilled Romaine Hearts featuring roasted red and yellow peppers, goat cheese, caramelized walnuts and charred lemon vinaigrette for $18;
Nova Scotia Lobster Roll with jicama slaw and cottage fries for $19;
Bone-In Colorado Veal Rib Chop Malfata made with baby arugula, shaved fennel and red onion with a mozzarella di bufala salad for $44;
28-ounce Prime Porterhouse Steak for $65 along with an assortment of other premium cuts.
In addition, through August 15, The Palm Philadelphia guests will once again be able to partake in a longstanding summer tradition – the return of our delectable four-pound lobster dinner for two served with two starters and one family-style side for just $99.
(Note: I also highly recommend getting the Wedge salad with Danish blue cheese, toasted walnuts, bacon, cherry tomatoes, chives and fried onions. I’m not normally a Wedge fanatic, but that was incredible.)
