Skinny Grub: Avocado Toast at Plenty Cafe

Avocado toast seemed to pop up everywhere in 2016. I’ve been eating it for at least 15 years, so its deliciousness is not new to me. But I’m happy that it has become a trendy menu item across the city. It’s tasty and can be a part of a healthy diet. Avocados are high in fat, but it’s the good fat!

In fact, avocados are an excellent source of heart-healthy monounsaturated fat that is easily burned for energy, while being low in fructose. They can help regulate sugar levels, and are a good source of fiber, vitamin E, B-vitamins, folic acid, and potassium.

Perhaps an avocado a day will keep the doctor away?

Plenty Cafรฉ, which has three locations in Philadelphia (E. Passyunk, Queen Village and Rittenhouse), might just have the best avocado toast in Philadelphia.
