Here in our beloved Philadelphia, summer has become a distant memory. However, the departure of summer skies does not mean we can’t continue to enjoy some of the the greatest food festivals Philly has to offer. Clear your October calendars, grab you friends and treat your taste buds to these four epic Philly food and drink festivals!
When: October 16
Where: The PHS Warehouse
The Navy Yard
5201 South 13th Street, Philadelphia
Calling all Philly foodies! On October 16, the 4th annual PHeaSt returns to Philadelphia’s most unique event space for an extraordinary garden-to-table dining experience. Thrown by the Pennsylvania Horticulture Society, this masterful event summons culinary enthusiasts to sample delicious dishes from over 30 top-tier chefs and 14 local growers. In addition to the food, attendees can sip on creative cocktails and craft beers while enjoying live entertainment. Be sure to check out the highly anticipated Don Julio’s 1952 Vintage Truck and Tequila Bar. Just like in past years, the proceeds from PHeaSt go to the PHS City Harvest Program, which enables urban gardeners to make fresh, nutritious produce more widely available in under-resourced neighborhoods.
Presented by Gourmet Shows, this three-day culinary event showcases some of the region’s most notable gourmet foods as well as its finest wines and spirits. Attendees can participate in wine tastings from international award-winning wineries and partake in educational cooking seminars. The festival brings in top celebrity chefs, like Paula Deen and Nicholas Elmi, to perform live cooking demonstrations. Zagat Restaurant Row will serve dishes from some of the best restaurants in the area. This is a culinary event you don’t want to miss!
The Hop Angel Brauhaus hosts their annual Applefest October 17-18 at their restaurant on Oxford Avenue. A fest dedicated to all things apples, guests have the opportunity to taste apple cider, apple beer, cinnamon apple pretzels, cranberry-apple stuffing and more. Come to the event with your whole family for fun activities like apple-bobbing and keg bowling. How do you like THEM apples?
Held at Lincoln Financial Field’s SCA Club, Philadelphia Magazine’s Whiskey & Fine Spirits Festival features over 200 premium spirits from around the world. Guests can indulge in samples of whiskey, bourbon, vodka, rum, tequila, gin, bourbon and more– all of which are available for purchase at the on-site wine and good spirits store. Other features not to miss are the local food trucks and delicious grub from some of Philly’s most upscale restaurants. The event this year includes live entertainment and the opportunity for personal bottle engravings. Tickets are still on sale, so don’t miss out!
